Where toys go to die..

And then there were THREE! These three baskets are ALL that's left of the toys we own. For weeks and weeks on my "commute" to work, I would walk by the playroom.. also known as the room where toys go to die and would turn my head the other way. Out of sight, out of mind. It was practically a war zone that I had to mentally prepare myself to enter.

I've been meaning to do this for a while but didn't like the thought of practically throwing away money.  I was hesitant of going the minimalist route with toys because I thought it was going to be emotionally traumatizing for the kids to part with some of these toys. I mean.. all 87 My Little Pony's HAD to have meaning to Ashli right? Wrong. Kids have a 5 minute rebound rate before they've moved on to the next (enter random toy/book/stuffed animal here)____.

I bought these baskets at the Dollar Tree (one of my favorite places on the planet) and told the kids they can put whatever they wanted in these baskets until they were full! Everything else is going bye-bye. RIP old, broken will NOT be missed. It was an easy (but long) process and I'm looking forward to less clutter, mess, war-zone type situations.
